Rose-Marie Casas – Our ‘Charter Champion’ for Muswell Hill

“Golf was once considered “a gentlemen’s sport.” Today, all areas of society are making great strides to be more inclusive and diverse, and we are transforming the perception and reality of golf, making it a welcoming and supportive environment for women and girls of all ages and abilities.

Golf teaches you about yourself – it’s a fun but demanding sport that requires skill and strategy – that brings people of all abilities together – men, women, boys and girls. Club golf is not only a game; being part of a golf club is like being part of a big family, getting support from the club and the members who motivate you and provide a fun environment to enjoy this unique sport.

It’s a perfect sport for families to enjoy together, from the grandparents down to the youngest child. How many sports are built around formats that can really welcome all ages and talents, and have a little something for everyone, including the social side of the the 19th hole and a nice rewarding meal after a good game.

Looking to the future, bringing more women and girls into our sport is essential, it’s as simple as that. Women of all ages bring a new vision and understanding to the sport that we need to evolve our game for the next century.

In summary, the aim here is to make golf easier for women, girls and families to join in, laugh, learn and share the sport of golf. We are lucky to have a sport that be its very nature can and must be the most inclusive as we open our arms to the new generation of women and girls.”
