James Wood – PGA Advanced Head Professional
James Wood joined Muswell Hill Golf Club as PGA Advanced Head Professional in February 2025, bringing a wealth of experience, energy, and passion to the team. An accredited golf professional, James is widely respected for his coaching expertise, custom fitting knowledge, and commitment to helping golfers of all abilities improve and enjoy the game.
James is a specialist putting coach and award-winning custom fit expert, using the latest technology—including Flightscope—to deliver tailored, high-quality coaching and fitting experiences. In 2023, he was nominated for Foremost PGA Professional of the Year, and received a prestigious TaylorMade fitting award, earning a trip to TPC Sawgrass in recognition of his outstanding service.
He continues to serve as the official Golf Professional for West Ham United, assisting in the running of the club’s golf days and maintaining strong links between the world of football and golf.
Before joining Muswell Hill, James was Head Professional at Sudbury Golf Club, and prior to that, Head Professional at Crews Hill Golf Club.
A lover of travel and all things golf retail, James brings a modern, approachable style to both coaching and the pro shop experience. His favourite course is the iconic Royal St George’s, and one of his proudest playing achievements is finishing 2nd in the Overseas Pro-Am at TPC Sawgrass in 2022, with a 2 3 finish!

Donal Brennan – PGA Professional
A member of the team since 1996 and PGA professional since 2000, Don has competed on various golf tours and coaches players of all levels, from beginners to players of advanced abilities. He’s worked alongside top names like David Ridley and Brian Hemmings, both formerly of the England Coaching Staff team, gaining valuable insights into elite performance.
Fun fact: Don recently assisted member Simon Farnaby to adapt his book ‘The Phantom of the Open’ onto the silver screen, working with Mark Rylance in preparation for the lead role.

Lucy Goddard – PGA Professional
After a successful amateur career including winning the Irish Women’s Amateur Open in 2014, Lucy turned professional in 2015 and competed on the Ladies European Tour and Ladies European Access Tour before moving into a coaching career.
Lucy is a fully qualified PGA professional and graduated winning the Beverly Lewis Trophy finishing top female and third overall in her cohort. She also has a BSc Hons in Sport and Exercise Science and is especially interested in biomechanics and psychology. Lucy began coaching at North Middlesex golf club along with Hanbury Manor and Nazeing Golf Club and has had a lot of success in setting up and running women’s academies. She became Head Coach at North Middlesex in 2023 before joining the Muswell Hill team. Lucy also provides golf corporate and charity event work which involves Beat The Pro challenges and coaching clinics.
Lucy has always had a passion for growing the game of golf, helping others with their game and running clinics on tour and, since becoming a full PGA Professional, has enjoyed coaching from introducing people who have never played the game before to the sport to empowering and improving anyone’s game whatever their ability.
